Blast Off !

A champagne toast to a beautiful life of our
Wife, Mother and Friend

Dearest loving friends and family of our beloved Suzi,

Tonight at 6:10pm MST Suzi took her last breath. She was surrounded by all of her family, her son Steve held her hand, her grandson Nealon was crawling all over her (she was giggling and smiling at this), husband Terry holding and massaging her feet, stepdaughter Reagan was holding her other hand and giving her a little water and stepson Web (we call him Chief Angel) was running his fingers through her hair. One of her two "night nurses" Helen Kearney (her dearest friend Lilie St. Germaine is Chief Night Nurse), had just read the last chapter of "Who Dies" by Steven Levine, and was also nearby. Justin and Judi Dituri both arrived close to death and fell into meditation. We all feel so blessed to be able to surround her and help her to pass with peace.

Thea Litsos was by to visit just earlier before her passing, delivering a beautiful email from Kathleen (one of her business partners from Washington state) about a perfect moment she had last night with Suzi in her heart and a beautiful sunset over the water.

Last night Suzi spoke to her family in Australia, her granddaughter Charlotte, her daughter-in-law Jenny and Steve's partner Mary. We also regularly read all of your emails and cards to her, which always made her smile.

Suzi had a Buddhist Lama shepherding her passage for the last few weeks. As timing had it, he was scheduled to come at 7pm. Immediately when he arrived, he began the rites of passage.

And so, we all came downstairs and toasted this beautiful woman. The memory that will last in our hearts demonstrates her ability to make anything funny... we made some joke about how heavy the baby was on her belly, and Web said "I'll show you heavy, I'll jump on your belly" and though she had hardly any movement left she made a sweet Suzi smirk that we will always remember.

An enormous thank you to the whole community who reads her blog, scheduled her visits, flowers from around the world, the fundraisers, the food, the calls, friends who showed up to shower her with attention and love... to rub her belly, her feet, her hands... to read to her... we know she left this planet knowing she was deeply loved.

Most of us won't be surprised that Suzi wants us to celebrate the wonderful life she shared with us. Let's remember the sound of her laugh, her sparkling eyes, her joyful spirit. So, raise your glass and here's to Suzi!

Details regarding the memorial will follow.

I'll never forget this experience! One thing we forgot to write was that the music playing was of a choir singing. "Hallelujah". So sweet and perfect. Suzi you did it right' girl.

She was a delight-ful woman. Full of love and light. I feel one of us may recognize her as she appears in her next life. Perhaps in the laughter of a new born, given who she was, I suspect it will be radiant.

I was so comforted reading this last night. What an amazing send-off! Suzi was a true inspiration for me and my life and this experience has shown me how truly graceful and radiant she was. Our most recent chats were really special...to see the evolution of this woman and her being through this process was awe-inspiring; such a beautiful and incredible woman! She will be missed but not forgotten.

Though I know that Suzi passed with peace and such loving support it still has me so very sad. Such a loss of such a joy-filled soul. It was an honor to know her and incredible to witness her wisdom and grace and transcendence in these last weeks ...

Surely the angels are celebrating the arrival of "Angel Suzi"...what a spirit she is! We have all been blessed with Suzi's love and giving over these last several months...and we'll never be the same. She has touched us all with her bright smile, her willingness to forgive and accept others as they are. She has demonstrated what it is to "let go and be at peace".
We are grateful to the whole community of family, friends and those who have cared for Suzi in a very physical way. Thank you for being there for us all. The times we were able to be with Suzi have been priceless and we received far more than anything we gave.
We will always remember the special times we shared with Suzi and with Suzi and 'Terry.
We will rise into her shoes as she has shown us the way. Thank you our darling Suuz. xxoo Sandy and Lon. Call us when you are ready, Terry. Love you.

My Darling Sister,

You will be missed terribly. It was only a short time since we met but that search was meant to be.

We became very close in that time and loved one another so very much.

You will always be that bright shining star in the sky and a wonderful inspiration to me and my family.

With all my love

Karen

From one Devonshire dumpling to another - we shared so many laughs and bonded immediately through the Oz Denver ladies. I shall miss you on the other side of the world Suzi, but will try to emulate your wisdom from now on. Love Sue
